Baby was the debut
musical for Crown Point Community Theatre. I was blessed with an immensely talented and
experienced cast (which, truth be told, intimidated me to some extent).
We roughed up some of the slick edges of the piece, creating a grittier
and, I think, more emotional version of the show. Physically mounting the
production from scratch with no previously acquired resources was
daunting- we had to cancel a tech-week rehearsal because the space wasn't
ready. The cast and pit, however, were ready, and the show was, in my
opinion at least, an artistic success and a promising start for CPCT.

The opening- this is before we painted the light supports,
and the flash washed out
the lighting effects, so not what it looked like to an
audience at all.

Sheree and Jason, besides lending the production their
considerable talents, came up with some great bits on their own, which I
was more than happy to take credit for... LOL.

"I Chose Right"
Katie beat out a strong field of about 8 ingénues- Josh was
a drafted
replacement for an early drop out, which turned out to be
fortuitous,
because he was great and they had a palpable chemistry
together.

Dana, Connie, and Jen were hilarious in myriad roles,
providing the depth of talent any decent show requires.
